| House 4 pictures

This home was owned by a woman with several children. Her husband is a fisherman and whose job keeps him away for long periods of time. The house was made from bamboo poles with nipa (palm leaf) roofing and tarp walls. We replaced the bamboo poles with hardwood beams and deployed amakan walls.
Some families wanted to keep their nipa roofing. Nipa may not be as strong as a corrugated tin roof but its cooler in the tropical heat and less noisy when it rains hard.
